David Fischer DVVAD, whatever that shall mean, delivered an extremely impressive slice of atmospheric black metal with MRKLB, whatever that shall mean. The darkness of MRKLB is impenetrable and almost terrifying: legend has it that if you listen to this at full moon, your lights will suddenly pop and The Undertaker will appear right behind you to tombstone-piledrive you into oblivion. I wouldn't be surprised. And look at who's here... Yoma, Ippo, MJ - all ov the cool people. A glorious closure to 2023! Favorite track: MRKLB IV.

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did!
